The Erlangen Center for Astroparticle Physics (ECAP) , of the University of Erlangen- Nuremberg is seeking individuals for several
PhD student positions (0.5 TV-L 13)
to work in high-energy astroparticle physics, specifically in gamma-ray astronomy and/or neutrino astronomy and scientifically related fields.
ECAP offers a strong environment in the field of astroparticle physics. Research in the institute includes (but is not limited to) improvement in reconstruction, machine learning, data analysis and interpretation for existing instruments (Fermi-LAT, H.E.S.S., ANTARES, IceCube), or development of methods and instrumentation for future instruments (CTA, SWGO, KM3NeT, IceCube-Gen2).
Successful applicants should have or be in the process of completing a degree in Astrophysics or Physics. They should posses a research background and provide evidence of excellent potential. Relevant experience in hardware and software development and ability to work in a team is seen as beneficial. The positions have a 3-year term, can be started immediately and remain open until filled with suitable candidates.
The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg wishes to increase the participation of women in its research activities. Therefore applications by women are particularly welcome. The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply.
Applications, including a Statement of Interest, CV, copies of recent certificates, and contact information of reference persons should be sent to
