FRANCI 2025
Franconian ECS Meet in Bamberg
The Early Career Scientists (ECS) of the North Bavarian – or Franconian – Universities FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and JMU Würzburg meet yearly to discuss the latest developments in their research in astronomy, astrophysics and astroparticle physics. The event takes place at the research locations of Bamberg, Erlangen and Würzburg – and in 2025 it was time for Bamberg. On the 28th of July, 78 scientists met in the Stephanshof for 17 talks and discussions. The day then concluded with a BBQ at the nearby Dr. Karl Remeis-Observatory. While the weather conditions prohibited actual observations, the participants also enjoyed tours of the historic exhibits and the modern telescopes set up in the two domes of the observatory.
