Organisation and Code of Conduct

Organisation and Governance

The Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics (ECAP) is a research centre comprising research groups engaged in research within the scientific disciplines of astroparticle physics, astrophysics, and related fields. ECAP’s research is organised into topical research areas.

The primary objectives of ECAP are to:

  • address fundamental and applied questions within its research areas,
  • foster collaboration among the involved research groups and areas,
  • provide the necessary infrastructure for fundamental research,
  • disseminate scientific findings to the scientific and public communities,
  • transfer technology from fundamental research into applications.

The governance of ECAP is defined in  ECAP_Governance_v1.0.1_20241211

Code of Conduct

ECAP is an international research institution with members and guests from diverse backgrounds. We strive for an inclusive and respectful environment for members of the centre independent of their age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, physical disability, religion, cultural and socio-economic background and stage or path of career or any other attribute. Advancing the development of junior members in a supportive environment is an important objective at ECAP.

The ECAP Code of Conduct, as linked below, reinforces our shared responsibility for the welfare of our institution and community, as well as the advancement of science:
