Public Climate School at ECAP
The Green Office of the FAU organised the Public Climate School 2025 and also came to the ECAP Laboratory with a PV upcycling workshop. This event was held by the SteckerSolaer working group of the association Energiewende ER(H)langen, in which participants learned how to make used photovoltaic modules suitable for use on their balcony or in their garden – and thus conserve resources.
Despite the bad weather, the work could proceed in the construction lab of the ECAP Laboratory. After a thorough cleaning of the modules with rags and water, they were newly wired with the common MC4 connecters today. At the end of the workshop, the participants were able to take their upcycled solar modules home free of charge and are now ready to install their own small solar system.
