ECAP researcher Jonas Glombitza receives ETI grant
We are happy to announce that ECAP researcher Jonas Glombitza has been successfully selected for the Emerging Talents Initiative (ETI) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU).
Dr. Jonas Glombitza is a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Stefan Funk and researches the nature of cosmic rays. Jonas is an expert in machine learning applications in astroparticle physics and is interested in the cross-cutting field of AI and physics.
He will use the funding to apply for an Emmy-Noether group to develop new reconstruction algorithms for a next-generation dual-layer water-Cherenkov gamma-ray observatory and to measure the cosmic-ray mass composition up to the PeV scale.
Congratulations to our researcher on this recognition!
The Emerging Talents Initiative (ETI)
The ETI program aims to support outstanding early career researchers in developing independent, innovative projects and securing external funding from major providers such as the DFG or ERC.
The program provides €15,000 in funding over 12 months, enabling researchers to strengthen their academic independence and advance their professional development. This achievement highlights the researcher’s exceptional potential and FAU’s commitment to fostering early career talent.
