The Astro Quantum Optics group from ECAP and the Quantum Optics and Quantum Information group of the Institute of Optics, Information and Photonics organized the Stellar Intensity Workshop 2025 in a series of successful workshops on the topic in the US, Canada and France. Stellar Intensity Interferometry is a re-emerging field in the broader area of super-high angular resolution optical astrophysics.
55 participants from 12 different countries were hosted at the Waischenfeld Research Campus from October 13th to 17th. Topics discussed included science goals, developments in instrumentation, particularly detector design, as well as the most recent results of various groups’ measurement efforts at facilities ranging from small optical telescopes to the current generation of IACT arrays. Details can be found on the Indico page of the event.
