New funds for astroparticle physics in Erlangen

The die is cast: during the upcoming 3-year funding period on “Ground-based Astro- and Astroparticle Physics”, scientists from the Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics (ECAP) will receive more than 2 million Euros of federal funding through “Verbundforschung”, a funding instrument of the German Ministry of Education and Research. The funds are granted for ECAP’s sizeable contributions to the gamma-ray observatory “Cherenkov Telescope Array” and the neutrino telescope “IceCube“, and will secure and further strengthen the role of ECAP in these research areas over the next years.
